Hana Kuraki, a 25-year-old Japanese adult film star, was found dead in Tokyo on Saturday, September 12, in circumstances reportedly being treated as a suspected suicide.
Kuraki was reportedly found by a friend at an apartment owned by the operator of a bar in Kabukicho, a well-known entertainment and nightlife district in Tokyo. The Tokyo Reporter reported that the friend contacted the bar owner, Sakito, who then went to the apartment and spoke with police.
Sakito later addressed the death in a lengthy social media post after reports incorrectly claimed that he had been the person who found Kuraki. He said he was contacted by her friend and went to the apartment to help with the situation and communicate with police.
He also said Kuraki had previously spoken to him about difficulties in her relationship. Sakito did not provide further details and asked people not to spread rumors or make assumptions about the circumstances surrounding her death.
Kuraki entered the adult film industry in 2024 and had been scheduled to appear at an adult industry event in Taiwan later this year.
Her career had recently been interrupted by a traffic accident. In June, Kuraki announced that she would temporarily stop her activities after suffering injuries to her face and jaw. She said at the time that she hoped to continue filming if possible and would provide updates about her previously scheduled appearances.
The circumstances of her death have led to attention online, but details remain limited. Sakito’s request for people to avoid speculation reflects the lack of confirmed information about what happened before Kuraki’s death.
