Belize tourism developments for 2027 will include a major archaeological exhibition, new boutique and luxury resorts, and improved flight connections designed to make the Caribbean destination easier to reach from the United Kingdom.
The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) announced the developments at World Travel Market (WTM) London, outlining plans to expand the country’s tourism offering through cultural attractions, new accommodation and improved international access.
One of the most significant developments is the planned opening of the Te K’ab Chaak Tomb Exhibit in 2027 at the Caracol Archaeological Reserve. The exhibition will feature artefacts recovered following the discovery of the tomb during the 2025 archaeological field season.

The collection will include rare Early Classic period artefacts and objects associated with elite burials, offering visitors an opportunity to learn more about Te K’ab Chaak, identified as the first recorded ruler of the ancient Maya city of Caracol. The exhibition is expected to provide greater insight into the city’s early political history and the people who governed it.
Caracol is one of Belize’s important archaeological sites, and the new exhibition adds another cultural attraction to a destination better known internationally for its Caribbean coastline, marine life and Maya heritage.
The country’s accommodation sector is also preparing for several new openings, with projects ranging from small coastal resorts to high-end private island developments.
Duna Beach Resort, part of The Belize Collection, is expected to open in early 2027 in Hopkins Village, a coastal community along Belize’s Caribbean shoreline. The boutique property is being developed as a smaller-scale accommodation option in an area known for its local culture and coastal setting.
Another major project is the Four Seasons Resort and Residences at Caye Chapel, scheduled to open in 2027. Located in the Caribbean Sea, approximately 16 miles from Belize City, the development is planned to include 104 oceanfront rooms, overwater bungalows and a spa inspired by natural cenotes. Its arrival will add another internationally recognised luxury hospitality brand to Belize’s growing resort market.
Further ahead, Six Senses Belize is planned for mid-2028 on Emerald Caye. The private island development is expected to feature overwater villas, private residences and wellness facilities designed around the surrounding marine environment.
Together, the projects reflect the range of accommodation investments planned for Belize over the next two years. They also give international visitors more options, from smaller coastal properties to luxury island resorts.
For travellers from the United Kingdom, flight connectivity was another major announcement at WTM London. Air Canada is set to resume its seasonal service between Montreal (YUL) and Belize City (BZE) from December 6. The weekly Monday service is intended to provide UK passengers with a route that allows them to reach Belize on the same day through Montreal, without requiring an overnight connection or transit through the United States.
The connection is particularly relevant for travellers departing from London Heathrow and other regional UK gateways. However, the journey still involves a connecting flight in Montreal rather than a direct service between the UK and Belize.
Belize’s Minister of Tourism, Youth, Sports and Diaspora Relations, Hon. Anthony Mahler, said the new developments reflect the country’s focus on cultural heritage, community-led tourism and investment in accommodation.
He highlighted the Te K’ab Chaak exhibition as an opportunity to bring Maya history to a wider audience, while describing the planned resort openings as additional accommodation options for international visitors.
Mahler also pointed to the Montreal flight connection as an improvement for UK travellers, alongside the country’s wider appeal through its local communities, cultural traditions and natural environment.
The announcements come as Belize prepares to introduce new visitor experiences and accommodation projects over the coming years. For the country’s tourism industry, the challenge will be to ensure that these developments complement the cultural and environmental resources that attract visitors in the first place.
The Belize Tourism Board is presenting the destination and its latest tourism developments at WTM London at Stand N7-330. Further destination information is available through the official tourism website, Travel Belize.
