Former Making the Band Singer Accuses Diddy of Abuse and Sexual Misconduct.
Sara Rivers, a former member of the reality show Making the Band, has taken legal action against Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of mistreatment during her time on the MTV series.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ Hip Hop, Rivers alleges that the music mogul subjected her to various forms of abuse, which were captured on camera and aired to millions of viewers.
One of the key incidents referenced in the lawsuit is the infamous “cheesecake walk” from Making the Band 2. Rivers and her group, Da Band, were instructed to walk a long distance just to retrieve a dessert for Diddy. She claims this was only one example of the alleged mistreatment she endured.
Beyond that, Rivers states that she was forced to share an open sleeping space with four male bandmates, despite being married at the time. She says that refusing to comply would have led to her being removed from the group.
The lawsuit also names MTV, Viacom, and several former Bad Boy Records affiliates, including Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, and his ex-assistant, Fonzworth Bentley.
Additionally, Rivers accuses Diddy of sabotaging her career by publicly dismantling Da Band and withholding a significant portion of her earnings from the show. She further alleges that he sexually harassed and assaulted her, claiming that he once cornered her, blocked her from leaving, and ran his hand across her chest.
Diddy’s legal team has swiftly denied these allegations, issuing a statement to TMZ:
“This is yet another baseless claim being filed against Mr. Combs. No matter how many lawsuits are brought forward, the fact remains that Mr. Combs has never engaged in sexual assault or trafficking of any kind. In today’s world, anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. With the deadline for New York’s Gender-Motivated Violence Act expiring tomorrow, it’s evident that opportunists are rushing to make last-minute, unfounded accusations. Mr. Combs remains confident that the truth will prevail in court.”
As the case unfolds, all eyes will be on how the legal battle plays out in court.
