Nigerian music legend 2Baba has announced his upcoming album, ‘Oldest Young Man’, scheduled for release on 27 November 2026. The project will be his first full-length studio album since ‘Warriors’, which arrived in 2020.
The singer, whose real name is Innocent Idibia and who was formerly known as 2Face Idibia, revealed the album title and release date in an Instagram post. His announcement signals the return of one of Nigeria’s most recognised music figures to the album format after a six-year break.
“The legacy continues. OLDEST YOUNG MAN drops 27.11.26. Timeless music, no expiration date,” he wrote.
The upcoming album follows ‘Warriors’, his 2020 studio project, which featured collaborations with prominent Nigerian artists including Burna Boy, Wizkid and Olamide. The album was an important release in his solo career, bringing together established names from different generations of Nigerian music.
Although 2Baba has not released a full-length album since ‘Warriors’, he has continued to put out new music. His recent releases include the single “Mental”, released in September 2026, and “Ifesinachi”, which arrived earlier in the year.
His return comes after more than two decades in the music industry. Before establishing himself as a successful solo artist, 2Baba gained national recognition as a member of Plantashun Boiz, the Nigerian music group that helped shape his early career. He later built a lasting reputation through songs such as “African Queen”, which became one of the defining hits of his career and helped introduce his music to audiences beyond Nigeria.
Over the years, 2Baba has remained an influential figure in Nigerian Afropop and the wider African music scene. His career has spanned changes in the industry, from the early days of Nigerian contemporary pop to the international growth of Afrobeats.
The title ‘Oldest Young Man’ and the accompanying message about timeless music offer a glimpse into how the singer is presenting this next chapter of his career. However, details about the album’s tracklist, featured artists and musical direction have not yet been announced in the information provided.
‘Oldest Young Man’ is scheduled to arrive on streaming platforms on 27 November 2026.
