Held at the National Theatre in Lagos, the installation brought the company’s REDESIGN AFRICA vision to life through a space designed to encourage visitors to touch materials, listen to audio content and explore the details behind the finished interior.

The exhibition combined deep burgundy surfaces, raw tree bark, sculptural textures and a contemporary sofa from S.E.A.HOMES. These elements created a setting that drew on Nigerian culture while presenting it through a contemporary interior design approach.

Rather than limiting the experience to visual displays, S.E.A CONSULTING invited visitors to examine the materials used in its work. Samples of finishing materials were arranged on a dark hardwood table supported by clear acrylic bases, creating the appearance of floating wood. The display allowed guests to handle the samples and consider how individual materials could contribute to a completed interior.

The installation also incorporated wireless headphones through which visitors could choose between music and a statement from the founder. A digital screen presented the firm’s services, products and projects, offering further insight into its work. An in-house photographer documented visitors interacting with the space, making their engagement part of the exhibition experience.

The presentation placed local craftsmanship at the heart of a broader conversation about African design and its place in contemporary interiors. Through its REDESIGN AFRICA concept, S.E.A CONSULTING highlighted the importance of recognising local makers, materials and cultural traditions as essential elements of design rather than treating them as decorative additions.

The exhibition also connected interior architecture with material sourcing, skilled craftsmanship and the practical realities of everyday living. Its approach reflected the role of collaboration in bringing individual materials, products and creative ideas together to form cohesive spaces.

For S.E.A CONSULTING, the message was that African design can draw strength from its cultural roots while meeting contemporary expectations for quality, functionality and execution. By making materials accessible to visitors and presenting them within a considered interior setting, the company offered a closer look at how Nigerian craftsmanship can inform modern living environments.

The installation at Design Week Lagos 2026 positioned local production and cultural identity as central to the company’s vision of African design, with REDESIGN AFRICA serving as the guiding idea behind the presentation.
