The tiny European republic of San Marino ranked as the safest solo travel destination in the world, receiving an exceptionally low risk score of 0.78 out of 10.
One of the country’s strongest advantages is the confidence its residents have in their own safety. According to the study, about 90 percent of people surveyed said they feel comfortable walking alone at night. That level of public confidence often reflects a safe environment for both residents and visitors.
San Marino also benefits from dependable healthcare services and relatively low environmental risks, making it an attractive option for travelers exploring Europe independently.
Andorra and Singapore complete the top three
Andorra secured second place with a risk score of 1.33 out of 10.
Located in the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain, the small nation has earned a reputation for political stability, low crime levels, and a peaceful atmosphere. Its compact size also makes it easy for visitors to navigate.
Singapore finished third with a score of 1.56 out of 10.
The city-state has consistently ranked among the safest destinations in the world thanks to strict law enforcement, excellent public infrastructure, efficient transportation, and modern healthcare facilities. For many first-time solo travelers, Singapore remains one of the easiest places to explore with confidence.
