Ryanair and easyJet have announced 47 new flight routes for summer 2027, giving travellers more options for holidays across Europe and beyond as airlines begin opening bookings for next year’s travel season.
Ryanair has unveiled its first 29 new routes for summer 2027, while easyJet has confirmed 18 new connections from 10 UK airports, covering eight countries. The additions include flights to popular Mediterranean holiday destinations, Greek islands, Spanish coastal cities and lesser-served European locations.

The announcements offer an early look at how airlines are expanding their networks ahead of the peak summer travel period, with services connecting more regional airports and creating new direct links between cities that previously had fewer options.
Ryanair says its summer 2027 schedule will cover more than 2,500 routes across 230 destinations. Its latest additions span Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Sweden and Morocco, giving travellers a wider choice of destinations for beach holidays, city breaks and regional trips.
Italy features prominently in the airline’s new schedule. Routes include Alicante to Naples, Athens to Turin, Bari to Friedrichshafen and Oslo Torp, as well as Brindisi to Warsaw. Sicily will gain a connection between Catania and Wroclaw, while Palermo will be linked with both Tirana in Albania and Marrakesh in Morocco.
The expansion also creates additional options for travellers heading to Greece. Bratislava will be connected to Chania in Crete, while Leeds Bradford will gain flights to Corfu and Newcastle will have a new service to Rhodes. These routes could make Greek island holidays more accessible to passengers departing from regional airports rather than relying on larger international hubs.
Spain also features in Ryanair’s plans, with new services including Memmingen to Seville, Norwich to Malaga and Newcastle to Reus. Portugal’s Porto will gain connections from Bournemouth, Exeter and Friedrichshafen, offering additional routes for travellers planning visits to northern Portugal.
Elsewhere, Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast will benefit from new flights linking Burgas with Wroclaw and Memmingen with Varna. Croatia will gain a Dubrovnik to Warsaw Modlin connection, while Gdansk in Poland will be linked with Stockholm Skavsta in Sweden.
Ryanair is also extending its reach into northern Morocco, with Tangier set to receive new services from Alicante, Krakow and Turin. The additions provide more ways to reach the North African destination from European cities.
The airline’s other new routes include Budapest to Leeds Bradford, Leeds Bradford to Tirana, Bari to Leeds Bradford, East Midlands to Gdansk and Birmingham to Wroclaw. Together, the additions broaden the range of direct connections available to passengers travelling between the UK and mainland Europe.
easyJet’s expansion places particular emphasis on departures from the UK, with 18 new routes launching from airports across England and Scotland. The airline says it will be the only carrier operating direct flights on 10 of the new connections.
Spain accounts for six of easyJet’s additions. The airline will introduce its first UK services to Girona, a city in Catalonia that provides access to the Costa Brava. Flights from Liverpool are scheduled to begin on 28 March 2027, followed by services from London Gatwick on 3 June.
The airline is also expanding its network from Scotland. Aberdeen will gain direct flights to Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, while Edinburgh will add Bilbao, Rome Fiumicino, Hamburg and Tivat in Montenegro. These routes give Scottish travellers more options for European city breaks and Mediterranean holidays.
Birmingham will also receive a new service to Tivat from 3 May 2027. The airport will gain another European connection through easyJet’s new route to Milan Malpensa, while Liverpool will be linked with Murcia in southeastern Spain.
Several of the new routes target summer sun destinations. Bristol will gain flights to Burgas in Bulgaria and Montpellier in southern France, while Newcastle will be connected to Larnaca in Cyprus. Travellers heading to Greece will have two additional options, with London Southend to Rhodes scheduled to begin on 27 April and London Luton to Thessaloniki on 1 May.
Corsica is another focus of easyJet’s expansion. Manchester to Bastia is due to launch on 29 June, followed by London Gatwick to Ajaccio on 30 June. Both destinations offer access to the French Mediterranean island, giving holidaymakers additional choices beyond the more familiar resort routes.
The wider aviation industry is also preparing for summer 2027, with new long-haul and international connections announced by carriers outside the low-cost sector.
Speaking at the Euronews Travel & Tourism Summit 2026, Florian Sengstschmid, chief executive of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, said Azerbaijan Airlines would operate four flights a week between Brussels and Baku from 8 May 2027.
Several US airlines are also planning additional European services. Alaska Airlines is due to launch flights from Seattle to Athens on 12 May and to Paris on 25 May. American Airlines plans to introduce Philadelphia to Porto and Vienna, New York JFK to Amsterdam and Nice, and Charlotte to Barcelona. Delta Air Lines will launch a daily service between Austin and Paris on 27 March.
United Airlines is expanding its European network from Newark with flights to Ljubljana, Ibiza, Valencia, Marseille, Terceira in the Azores, Olbia in Sardinia and Catania in Sicily. It also plans to connect Washington Dulles with Toulouse in France.
Air Canada is adding seasonal services from Toronto to Oslo, Shannon in Ireland and Nice in France in June 2027. From Montreal, the airline plans to introduce flights to Dubrovnik in May and Basel in June.
For travellers, the growing list of routes provides more potential departure points and direct connections when planning next summer’s holidays. However, the announcement of a new route does not necessarily mean every flight date is available to book immediately, and schedules, operating days and fares can change. Travellers should check the airlines’ official booking websites for confirmed dates and prices before making plans.
