Hong Kong Football Festival 2025 pre-season tournament will bring Manchester City, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Juventus to Hong Kong this August for a four-club summer series at Kai Tak Stadium.
Four of Europe’s most recognised football clubs will meet in Hong Kong this August as part of the Hong Kong Football Festival 2025 pre-season tournament, a short summer series featuring Manchester City, Chelsea, Inter Milan and Juventus.
The opening match is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, when Manchester City face Inter Milan at Kai Tak Stadium, a newly built 50,000-seat venue equipped with a retractable roof and cooling systems designed for Hong Kong’s summer climate.
Manchester City arrive under Pep Guardiola with Erling Haaland expected to headline their squad. Inter Milan come in as one of Italy’s strongest sides, currently competing at the top of Serie A and pushing for another domestic title.
Chelsea will meet Juventus in the second fixture on Wednesday, August 5, closing the tournament. Juventus remain in a rebuilding phase under Luciano Spalletti as they aim to secure Champions League qualification, while Chelsea travel to Asia following a mixed season marked by inconsistency and managerial changes.
Despite domestic challenges, both clubs continue to draw significant global attention, and the fixture is expected to attract a large crowd.
All four teams will also take part in open training sessions, giving fans in Hong Kong direct access to players including Cole Palmer, Lautaro Martinez and Dusan Vlahovic.
The tournament reflects the growing role of Asia in European football pre-season planning. Hong Kong has hosted similar fixtures in recent years, with last year’s matches drawing sold-out stadiums and strong turnout for training events.
Additional fixtures are also scheduled in the city, including a friendly between Bayern Munich and Aston Villa on August 7, extending the international football presence in Hong Kong across the month.
