The Forum of Women in Film and Television Nigeria (FWIFT) will host its 2026 national convention on Thursday, October 29, at Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos, bringing together women from film, television, radio, advertising and digital media to strengthen professional connections and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Held under the theme “One Industry, Many Voices: We Build Together,” the convention will run from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and focus on building stronger networks among women working across Nigeria’s media and creative industries.

Art and cultural expert and curator Sandra Mbanefo Obiago will deliver the keynote address. The programme will include interactive panel discussions, breakout sessions, speed networking and a fireside chat titled “The Cross Over: A Career Beyond Borders.”
Featured speakers and panellists include media executive Kadaria Ahmed, filmmaker Biodun Stephens, media personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, executive director Rosemary Egabor-Afolahan and Esosa Osagiede.
According to FWIFT’s leadership, the convention aims to create an interconnected media community where women across screen, broadcast and digital platforms can share resources, develop professional relationships and support one another’s growth. The organisation also hopes to create more opportunities for mentorship, cross-industry collaboration and careers that extend beyond national borders.
The gathering will bring together professionals from different areas of the media industry to exchange ideas and explore how collaboration can support women’s careers and strengthen African storytelling on the international stage.
Admission is free, but online registration is compulsory. Interested participants can register through the official registration form.
The convention is supported by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF).
