FOLA’s sophomore album, 9, is out now, bringing together a mix of previously released songs and new collaborations with some of the biggest names in Afrobeats and contemporary African music. The project features Davido, Ayra Starr, BNXN, Bella Shmurda, Zlatan and Darkoo, marking the Nigerian singer’s next major release following his 2025 debut album, Catharsis.

Among the album’s featured tracks is “Treat U Right” with Ayra Starr, alongside “Attention!”, “Fine Ting (Fine $hit)” and “It’s Over”, which features Bella Shmurda and Zlatan. FOLA had also released “Miss U II (Nriri)” ahead of the album, giving listeners an early look at the project’s sound before the full tracklist was unveiled.
The new collaborations bring together artists with different styles and audiences. Davido appears on “2am In Toronto”, while BNXN joins FOLA on “My Type“. Darkoo features on “Hold U Down”, adding to a guest lineup that connects FOLA’s sound with several established names in the African music scene.
The album title carries a football reference. In the game, the number 9 traditionally represents the central striker, a player expected to deliver goals when the team needs them most. For FOLA, the idea serves as a metaphor for his role as an artist expected to deliver hit records. The title reflects the confidence surrounding his rise and the run of successful releases that has helped establish his name.

9 follows Catharsis, FOLA’s 2025 debut album, and represents the next stage in his development as a recording artist. With a tracklist that combines familiar releases and fresh collaborations, the new project gives listeners a broader picture of his musical direction and the company he is keeping as his profile grows.
The album is available now for listeners to stream.
