The renewed dispute surfaced on the latest episode of the Joe and Jada podcast, hosted by Fat Joe and Jadakiss. The episode featured Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda as guests, which made the story even more uncomfortable, given Yayo’s long history with G-Unit.
According to Fat Joe, the incident happened during the peak of the beef between 50 Cent’s G-Unit and Terror Squad. Joe claimed he ran into Young Buck at a Winter Jam concert in Chicago and said things escalated quickly.
He described being backstage with his crew while several major artists were on the bill, including Young Jeezy and Fabolous. As Joe came off stage in a dark area of the venue, he said someone shouted his name from an upper level. When he looked up, he claims it was Young Buck calling out to him.
Joe said he reacted instinctively. He admitted throwing a water bottle and challenging Buck to come downstairs. According to his account, the situation drew police attention before it could turn into a full fight.
Fat Joe claimed officers formed a barricade on the staircase to prevent the two sides from clashing. He said Buck took his time coming down, surrounded by people from Chicago.
When Buck eventually approached, Joe alleged that Buck tried to calm things down verbally while still testing him. Joe said Buck briefly leaned past the police line, which was enough for Joe and members of his entourage to throw punches.
Joe added humor to the story by claiming even his barber joined in. The tone on the podcast suggested he saw the incident as a decisive moment rather than a serious assault.
Young Buck does not agree with Joe’s version of events. In response to the podcast clip circulating online, Buck released a diss track titled “CAPpuccino” to address the story directly.
Rapping over a sample of Kanye West’s “Drive Slow,” Buck accused Fat Joe of twisting the facts and exaggerating what happened. He claimed no punches landed and suggested Joe’s recollection was flawed.
Buck also mocked Joe’s recent weight loss, referencing Ozempic in his lyrics, while warning him to speak accurately when mentioning his name.
In the song, Buck insists he chose restraint and did not escalate the situation, even though tensions were high. He framed the track as clarification for fans rather than a calculated attempt to reignite old beef.
The song quickly circulated across hip hop media, pulling a long dormant rivalry back into current conversation.
Rather than backing down, Fat Joe responded directly in the comments section of Young Buck’s Instagram page. He stood by his original story and described it as old but factual.
His response was brief but firm, signaling he had no intention of revising his account or de-escalating the public disagreement.
