Nino Breeze, an artist signed to Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music Group, was arrested and later released on bond following allegations linked to marijuana possession with intent to distribute. The situation unfolded quietly but gained attention due to Breeze’s rising profile in hip hop and his recent music releases.
According to statements from his legal representatives, Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin, the rapper voluntarily surrendered to the United States Marshals Service on Monday, December 22. The surrender took place at the federal courthouse in Tampa, Florida.
Federal prosecutors charged Breeze with conspiracy to possess marijuana with intent to distribute. The charge falls under federal drug statutes, which carry heavier penalties than state level marijuana offenses, regardless of shifting public attitudes toward cannabis use in parts of the United States.

Breeze’s attorneys confirmed that he would spend Christmas at home following his release. In a brief statement, they said, “Nino will be home for Christmas,” adding that they are prepared to review the government’s evidence and address the charges through the trial process if necessary.
The legal team emphasized that the case is still in its early stages and that no conclusions should be drawn until the evidence is fully examined in court.
Nino Breeze is currently signed to Maybach Music Group, the record label founded by Rick Ross. Earlier this year, the label released Breeze’s latest EP, which helped solidify his position as one of the newer voices associated with the MMG brand.
Despite the legal setback, there has been no public indication from the label regarding changes to Breeze’s artist status or upcoming projects.
