Tiger Woods has lost his mother, Kultida Woods, who passed away on February 4th at the age of 81. In a message shared on his social media, Tiger expressed the deep sorrow he felt, saying, “It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning.”
He reflected on the immense impact she had on his life, describing her as “a force of nature” with an indomitable spirit. “She was quick with the needle and a laugh,” he added, recalling the vibrant, spirited woman who was not only his biggest fan but also his greatest supporter. Without her, Tiger acknowledged, his achievements—both personal and professional—would not have been possible.
Kultida, who was adored by many, especially her two grandchildren, Sam and Charlie, leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. Tiger spoke of his mother’s close bond with her grandchildren, further expressing his gratitude for the support and prayers his family has received during this time.
It is with heartfelt sadness that I want to share that my dear mother, Kultida Woods, passed away early this morning. My Mom was a force of nature all her own, her spirit was simply undeniable. Tiger’s father, Earl, and Kultida were married for 37 years until Earl’s passing in 2006. Though Earl was a military man, Tiger always found his mother to be the more formidable figure. “My dad may have been in the Special Forces, but I was never afraid of him,” Tiger once shared in an interview. “My mom’s still here, and I’m still deathly afraid of her. She’s a very tough, tough old lady, very demanding. I love her so much, but she was tough.”
Her passing marks a significant loss in Tiger’s life, one that not only reflects a personal sorrow but the end of an era in a family built on strength, love, and unshakeable support.
