S£x abuse allegations against Andrew Tate are once again under investigation by UK police. Hertfordshire Constabulary has reopened inquiries into claims of r@pe and s£xual assault reported by three women between 2014 and 2015. The original investigation spanned four years and was closed in 2019.

The renewed probe follows a report by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which indicated that a former detective constable could face gross misconduct proceedings for alleged failures in handling the initial investigation. Hertfordshire Constabulary emphasized its commitment to thorough scrutiny of serious allegations, stating that time passed does not diminish the importance of a proper inquiry.
The IOPC also confirmed that two former detective sergeants who supervised the earlier investigation are now being examined for potential misconduct. In response, the three women who first reported the allegations issued a joint statement through their legal team, expressing gratitude that the IOPC is reviewing the handling of their reports. They stressed that their aim has always been for their evidence to be fully and fairly considered.
Beyond the police investigation, the women have filed civil claims in the High Court, joined by a fourth woman, alleging s£xual violence by Tate. One claimant has detailed incidents in 2015 in which she claims Tate assaulted her with a belt and grabbed her throat multiple times. Tate’s legal team has strongly denied all allegations, describing them as false and asserting that his conduct was never controlling. A spokesperson reiterated that the claims are “unproven and untested” and categorically denied.
The civil trial is scheduled for June of this year. Meanwhile, the legal team representing the women, McCue Jury & Partners, confirmed that the Crown Prosecution Service’s prior decision not to bring criminal charges is under review through the victim’s right to review process. Last September, the CPS had stated that the legal threshold to authorize charges had not been met.
Tate is also involved in ongoing legal proceedings in Romania alongside his brother, Tristan Tate, both of whom deny any wrongdoing. Following these proceedings, Bedfordshire Police have secured a European arrest warrant for the brothers related to separate allegations of r@pe and human trafficking in the UK, concerning different women between 2012 and 2015. The brothers have denied all claims associated with these investigations.
This latest reopening of the investigation underlines ongoing scrutiny of how allegations against high-profile figures are handled and the persistence of victims seeking justice through both criminal and civil legal channels.
