Snoop Dogg burger van Scotland is not a joke or a publicity stunt. It is real and it is coming straight from the rap legend himself. Snoop wants to launch a food experience at the heart of Scottish football culture and he knows exactly where to do it. The location? Celtic Park.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, Snoop said he wants to take stadium food to the next level.
“I would love to bring a pop-up burger van to a sports stadium to show fans that food at stadiums can be good. It’s got to be Celtic Park, man.”
The man behind hits like Drop It Like It’s Hot also knows a thing or two about food.
“The secret to a good burger is the love in the preparation,” he explained. “The ground beef has got to be mixed with some secret spices, then add a good quality cheese and some maple cured bacon.”
And it is not just talk. Snoop says he wants to serve the burgers himself when the project comes to life.
In case anyone was wondering if his burger idea would extend to Celtic’s rivals, Snoop had a simple answer.
“Am I going to bring my burgers to Rangers as well? Nah, I think we will give that a miss.”
He clearly understands the rivalry between the two Scottish clubs and he has made his choice.
This food journey is not limited to a van outside the stadium. Snoop has a much bigger dream that involves one of the most respected chefs in the world. The rapper revealed plans to work with Gordon Ramsay, who was born in Scotland.
“I have told him I want to open a restaurant with him, and maybe it might even be in Glasgow,” Snoop told the Daily Record. “We are always swapping cooking tips, and I do mean swapping. It’s not just one way traffic. I send him tips as well. He respects Snoop as a chef.”
Snoop continued, “My boy Gordon has got a worse mouth than me, but that’s only because of his passion. You do not become the best chef in the world without the passion he has.”
There is more to this story than burgers. Snoop once hinted that he would love to be part of the MasterChef UK judging team. In an interview with The Mirror, he said,
“You better believe Snoop could be the new MasterChef judge.”
He added, “My boy Gordon judges on the US version of the show and I know he would back me to be able to judge on the UK version.”
From hip hop to hospitality, Snoop Dogg’s love for food is turning into something serious and Scotland might be the first to get a taste.
