The employee recounted how the former President and First Lady visited the restaurant where he works for a quiet dinner. Everything seemed to go smoothly—until it was time to settle the bill.
When Barack handed over his credit card to pay, the server nervously processed it, only to find that the card had been declined. Adding to the tension, the same server had accidentally spilled hot tea on Obama earlier in the evening due to nerves. Despite the earlier mishap, she now faced the daunting task of telling the President of the United States that his card didn’t go through.
Amid her embarrassment, Michelle Obama came to the rescue, calmly stepping in with her card to cover the bill. As the couple prepared to leave, Barack turned to the server with a smile and said, “I won’t tell anyone you spilled tea on me if you don’t tell anyone my card was declined.”
