RZA wants A$AP Rocky and Rihanna to name their third child after the late Wu-Tang Clan legend Ol’ Dirty Bastard. The legendary rapper suggested the couple continue the naming trend they started with their first child. He told People, “You know what? OBD, because you know the legend must live on.”

RZA has previously expressed his gratitude for the tribute. Speaking to CNN, he said, “[It’s] a great honor to know that there’s another generation that’s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name. RZA isn’t only a name, it’s a title. So it’s an honor and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.”
A$AP Rocky recently hinted at what he and Rihanna might name their third child. Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers alongside Anna Wintour, the host asked if they planned to continue the trend set by their first two children, Riot and RZA.
Meyers said, “Your first two kids have ‘R’ names, obviously you and Rihanna have ‘R’ names. Is this a lock that the third will have an ‘R’ name, do you think?”
Rocky replied simply, “For sure.”
If Rocky and Rihanna follow through with the “R” naming trend, they may have to go back on a promise made to the rapper’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina. Speaking to Extra shortly after Rocky was acquitted in his shooting trial, Tacopina revealed that the couple had jokingly proposed, “Listen, our next baby is A$AP Joe.” He added, “I’m gonna hold you to that.”
Rihanna unveiled her pregnancy at the Met Gala in May, where A$AP Rocky served as co-chair. The 37-year-old Barbadian superstar made a fashionably late entrance, proudly displaying her baby bump while cradling it in front of the media.
