Rapper G$Lil Ronnie and 5-Year-Old Daughter Killed in Forest Hill Shooting — Suspect Captured.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the devastating shooting deaths of rapper G$Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter at a car wash in Forest Hill.
Officials confirmed that Adonis Robinson was taken into custody by the Fort Worth intelligence unit and Texas Rangers in Livingston, Texas.
Forest Hill police reported that the shooting, which claimed the lives of a 30-year-old man and a 5-year-old girl, happened at Slappy’s Express Car Wash on Forest Hill Drive around 10:45 a.m. on Monday.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Forest Hill Police Chief David Hernandez stated that 24-year-old Adonis Yeavon Robinson and 21-year-old Jakobie Dajuan Russell had been identified as suspects in the deaths of Smith and his young daughter.
The victims were identified as Fort Worth rapper Ronnie, also known as G$Lil Ronnie, and his 5-year-old daughter, R’mani Sibley. Ronnie’s aunt confirmed their identities after the tragic incident at the Slappy’s Express Car Wash, located in the 6500 block of Forest Hill Drive.
According to authorities, the victim’s car was found with multiple bullet holes in the windshield. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Initial reports from Forest Hill police indicated that two suspects got out of a white, four-door Kia, approached the victim’s car, and opened fire. The suspects were described as two Black men wearing blue jeans and grey sweaters.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine a possible motive.
“The safety of the general public is our top priority,” Forest Hill Mayor Stephanie Boardingham said on Wednesday. “We are confident that the employees responded swiftly to the incident.”
“Our hearts go out to the family and the entire community,” she added. “This loss has affected us all.”
