Michelle Obama’s Trump-Era Deportation Fears Met With Sharp Criticism From Piers Morgan

British broadcaster Piers Morgan is not holding back after Michelle Obama shared her deep concerns about how immigrants were treated during Donald Trump’s presidency.

Speaking openly on the ‘On Purpose with Jay Shetty’ podcast, the former First Lady spoke about her emotional turmoil over what she described as a wave of racial bias influencing U.S. immigration policies. Her words painted a dark picture of fear and uncertainty for communities of color across the nation.

“There’s so much bias and so much racism and so much ignorance that fuels those kind of choices. I worry for people of color all over this country, and I don’t know that we will have the advocates to protect everybody. And that … frightens me, it keeps me up at night,” she said during the interview.

But her comments sparked a strong reaction from Piers Morgan. He took to social media to call out what he saw as a glaring double standard. Morgan pointed the finger at former President Barack Obama, saying he led a presidency that deported more people than any of his predecessors — a fact he believes Michelle should not ignore.

“Her husband was the greatest deporter in U.S. presidential history – kicking out 3m+ people in 8yrs. Did THAT keep her up at night?” Morgan tweeted bluntly.

His comment hit a nerve online, fueling fresh debate over the immigration legacies of both Obama and Trump, and whether public figures are applying criticism fairly or selectively.
