When Health Becomes a Reason to Travel: ITB Berlin 2026 Boosts Medical & Health Tourism

Medical and Health Tourism is taking center stage at ITB Berlin 2026. From 3 to 5 March 2026, the expanded Medical & Health Tourism Pavilion in Hall 4.1 will host international exhibitors, European partners, and for the first time, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.

Medical & Health Tourism

The event will introduce new formats focusing on medical care, prevention, and longevity, complemented by networking opportunities, a dedicated stage programme, and two awards celebrating excellence in this growing segment.

Medical and Health Tourism has grown beyond a trend. At ITB Berlin 2026, it will be clear how planned care abroad, specialised clinics, preventive medicine, and full medical regeneration are attracting patients worldwide. The mix of medical expertise, evidence-based health solutions, and tourist infrastructure makes this segment appealing for destinations, clinics, and tour operators alike.

International Diversity and New Exhibitors in Hall 4.1

The Medical & Health Tourism Pavilion remains a central meeting point for healthcare partners, clinics, destinations, associations, and travel industry professionals. Its focus is on quality, trust, and measurable value for both travellers and patients.

In 2026, the pavilion grows further. Crescent Meditours will bring a network of 20 clinics from India. Astana Tourism represents four clinics from Kazakhstan and acts as a supporting partner. Health Croatia returns for its third year with 12 healthcare partners and a larger display.

Bulgaria will participate with its own stand for the first time, and the Health Tourism Association from Saudi Arabia joins as a newcomer. Gremi Clinic from Albania and Bangkok Hospital from Thailand reinforce the growing international importance of Medical and Health Tourism.

Strong Partners in Thermal Health, Longevity, and European Expertise

ITB Berlin 2026 will highlight areas where tourism and healthcare intersect. The European Historic Thermal Towns Association (EHTTA) will present three new thermal destinations: Spa (Belgium), Baden (Switzerland), and Viterbo (Italy).

The European Spas Association (ESPA) will focus on future trends, examining the scientific background of preventive care, thermal medicine, and evidence-based therapies. Panels include Longevity, Regeneration & Prevention: Beyond the Buzzwords, addressing thermal medicine, natural remedies, and climate therapy.

The session Nature-Based Health: From Trend to Treatment will discuss nature-based therapies like green care and forest therapy, scientifically proven to support physical and mental health. Other established therapies, including thalassotherapy, climate therapy, and balneology, will also be presented. Digital Health Meets Thermal Health will explore the integration of modern digital solutions with traditional healthcare approaches.

The Health Tourism Industry (HTI) returns with its own stand, while the European Health & Medical Tourism Association (EHMTA) enhances international networking opportunities.

Charité Joins the Stage Events Programme

For the first time, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is a partner of the stage events programme. Charité will present and join a panel highlighting its collaboration with Saudi Arabia. This partnership strengthens ITB Berlin 2026’s position for medical buyers seeking reliable and trusted healthcare networks.

Medical & Health Tourism Awards 2026

In 2026, ITB Berlin introduces two awards for the first time. Judged by an international jury based on strict criteria, the ITB Medical Tourism Award 2026 goes to Visit Düsseldorf, while the ITB Health Tourism Award 2026 is awarded to Italy. These awards underline the growing significance of medical and health tourism worldwide.
