Lil Baby’s Legal Team Goes Off on APD for Trying to Connect Him to Teen Murders.
Lil Baby’s attorneys are pushing back hard against the Atlanta Police Department (APD) after officers appeared to link the rapper to a deadly 2024 shooting that claimed the lives of two teenagers.
In a statement to TMZ, the rapper’s legal team—Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg—called the claims “complete and total nonsense,” shutting down any suggestion that their client was involved.
The controversy began after an APD press conference on Wednesday, where officials announced the arrests of seven alleged gang members tied to the tragic shooting. During the briefing, APD Homicide Commander Ralph Woolfolk specifically referenced Lil Baby, pointing out that the rapper had been filming a music video near the scene. Woolfolk suggested that Baby “knew he should not have been” in that area, calling his presence there a “cowardly act” and implying that he could be held accountable.
Lil Baby’s attorneys wasted no time firing back. They firmly stated that the rapper had zero connection to the crime and had every right to be where he was.
“To suggest that he shouldn’t be allowed to film a music video in his own hometown—a place he loves and has consistently uplifted—is both disgraceful and misleading,” his legal team argued. They also made it clear that decisions about video locations are handled by a professional crew, not the artist himself.
Further slamming APD’s approach, the attorneys called their handling of the situation “unprofessional, unethical, and shameful,” reiterating that Lil Baby had “absolutely no involvement” in the shooting.
According to his legal team, the rapper is heartbroken over the tragedy, especially since both victims were from the same Atlanta neighborhood where he grew up.
