JAY-Z new music might finally be on the way, according to his longtime friend and frequent collaborator Memphis Bleek.

Although the rap icon has not dropped a studio album since 2017’s 4:44, Bleek revealed that Jay is back in the studio and building something fresh. Speaking on the Drink Champs podcast, Bleek explained: “I just was with him in Vegas. He just came out on the show, like, yo, my n****, they went stupid.”
Bleek went further: “I said, listen, I know you working. Save me a verse. He’s like, alright, I got you. So if it happens, it happens.” Fans have been waiting years for new material, and this comment has fueled speculation that a new project could finally be in motion.
At the same time, JAY-Z has been dealing with a heavy legal battle that has kept him in headlines. A woman accused him and music mogul Diddy of sexual assault, claiming the incident happened when she was 13. Her lawsuit quickly fell apart after inconsistencies in her story were discovered, and she later dropped the case.
In response, JAY-Z filed a defamation lawsuit against the woman and her attorney Tony Buzbee. The filing argued that the accusations damaged his business reputation and caused millions in financial losses. Court documents stated that Jay lost contracts in sports and entertainment worth at least $20 million.
The Roc Nation founder also claimed that he was denied a $55 million credit line and that Roc Nation itself was refused a $115 million loan. According to the legal filing, companies with contracts to produce entertainment for sporting events became hesitant to move forward after the allegations were made public.
The accuser and her attorney tried to dismiss Jay’s defamation lawsuit, arguing that her claims were protected because they were filed in court documents. They also argued that her NBC interview was based only on what had already been submitted legally.
Attorney Tony Buzbee even filed a motion to dismiss, claiming he had reached a private agreement with JAY-Z. But Jay’s lawyer strongly denied that, saying: “Total lie. He brought a false case, lost badly and was forced to dismiss quickly. End of story.”
For now, fans remain focused on the possibility of JAY-Z new music. The speculation around his return has only grown stronger with Bleek’s comments, raising hopes that the Roc Nation boss might finally deliver his long-awaited follow-up album.
