Hollywood Mourns: Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa Found Dead Together.
Acting icon Gene Hackman and his wife, former classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, were tragically found dead at their New Mexico home on Wednesday, February 26.
Authorities from Santa Fe County discovered the bodies of Hackman, 95, and Arakawa, 63, alongside their dog. The couple had been together for 34 years.
While an investigation is ongoing, there are no signs of foul play, and the cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Sheriff Adan Mendoza of Santa Fe County confirmed the unfortunate news on Thursday, February 27.
Hackman, celebrated for his legendary performances in films like The French Connection, Bonnie and Clyde, and The Royal Tenenbaums, remains one of Hollywood’s most revered actors. His distinguished career earned him two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, and the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2003.
