Emily Osment Files for Divorce Citing Irreconcilable Differences After 5 Months.
Emily Osment has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Jack Anthony, after just five months of marriage.
The Young Sheldon star submitted the paperwork on Friday, March 7, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
Osment, who is turning 33 on March 10, married Anthony on October 12, 2024, following their engagement in June 2023. According to the filing, the couple separated on December 7, 2024 — meaning their marriage lasted less than three months before they decided to part ways.
The couple does not have any children together and had a prenuptial agreement in place.
“I think with any big decision in life — whether it’s about relationships, work, or anything else — you have to fully commit to that choice,” Osment shared in a statement to PEOPLE. “In the end, it just didn’t work out.”
When the couple got engaged in June 2023, Osment shared her excitement in an emotional Instagram post, showing off her unique engagement ring — a square diamond next to a circular emerald set in gold.
“I didn’t know life could be this sweet,” she wrote. “I’m so proud of the life we’ve built together and how we’ve grown over the past few years.”
“This love is so big and uniquely ours, and I know it can handle anything,” she continued. “I’m so honored to stand next to you every day. I love you, Jack.”
In May 2024, Osment opened up about the wedding planning process, expressing how excited she was to get married. “I can’t wait to be married,” she said at the time.
Shortly after the wedding, she appeared on CBS Mornings with Gayle King, confirming the marriage. “It’s great so far,” she said. “These past four days have been glorious.”
Since filing for divorce, Osment has removed all photos of Anthony from her Instagram account.
It’s a tough ending for what seemed like a happy chapter — but it looks like Osment is ready to move forward with grace.
