Balenciaga and Margiela Lead a Stripped-Back Paris Couture Week Lineup

Balenciaga, Maison Margiela Among Highlights of Provisional Paris Couture Schedule.

Paris is gearing up for a quieter couture week this July, but that doesn’t mean the fashion world is losing its edge. Demna’s last showing for Balenciaga and Glenn Martens stepping into the spotlight at Maison Margiela are set to be two of the biggest moments. The official lineup dropped this week from the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, and the vibe is already shifting.

Dior won’t be showing this season. Jonathan Anderson just took over the reins from Maria Grazia Chiuri, who signed off with a Rome cruise show last week, her final bow under Dior’s haute couture wing.

Jean Paul Gaultier is also on pause. The house recently gave creative control to Duran Lantink, moving away from its rotating guest designer model. Lantink’s first ready-to-wear drop is coming in September. His couture debut is on the books for next January. Not showing this round are Alexis Mabille, Julien Fournié, Gaurav Gupta, Maison Sara Chraibi and Miss Sohee.

The calendar is leaner. There are just 27 shows across four days, from July 7 to 10. Schiaparelli opens the week at 10 a.m. Monday. Germanier wraps things up Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Balenciaga’s couture show is locked for July 9 at noon. After that, Demna moves to Gucci. Pierpaolo Piccioli, recently confirmed, will take his place at Balenciaga. That same evening, Glenn Martens will reveal his first Artisanal collection for Maison Margiela at 7:30 p.m.

Alessandro Michele, who presented his first couture lineup for Valentino back in January, is also skipping the season. Valentino plans to go yearly for couture from now on.

Back on the official schedule are Iris Van Herpen, now also working on an annual couture rhythm, as well as Robert Wun, ArdAzAei, and Adeline André. July 10 will see Syrian-born, Dubai-based Rami Al Ali making his official debut at 2:30 p.m.

Some brands are sticking with their usual pace. Chanel, Giambattista Valli, Zuhair Murad and Stéphane Rolland will return to their standard time slots. Chanel’s presentation marks the last collection crafted by the in-house studio team before Matthieu Blazy makes his directorial debut in October.

Giorgio Armani Privé adjusted its schedule slightly. Shows are now set for July 8 at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., up from their previous 6 and 7 p.m. slots. Elie Saab slides into a 2:30 p.m. showing on July 9, moving from his regular 12:30 p.m. Viktor & Rolf go on at 4 p.m., 30 minutes earlier than usual.

Juana Martin and Ashi Studio both pushed up their slots by two days. They’ll now show on Tuesday at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Before the week officially kicks off, Michael Rider will present his debut for Celine on July 6 at 2:30 p.m. Details remain under wraps about whether it will be womenswear, menswear or both.

Also showing that same day is Patou, with a spring 2026 women’s ready-to-wear reveal set for 5 p.m.
