Iran Warns Trump Military Ahead of Geneva Talks

Iran warns Trump military, saying that even the most powerful armed forces in the world can face severe setbacks. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, delivered the message in Tehran on Tuesday, directly responding to repeated statements by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding America’s military strength.

According to Iranian state media, Khamenei emphasized, “The strongest military in the world may sometimes be slapped so hard it cannot get up.” He insisted that no threat from Washington can destroy the Islamic Republic.

The Supreme Leader highlighted Iran’s ability to counter U.S. naval forces. “They say they have sent an aircraft carrier toward Iran. An aircraft carrier is indeed a formidable asset. But more formidable is the weapon that can send it to the bottom of the sea,” Khamenei said.

Khamenei’s remarks coincided with the arrival of Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, and his delegation in Geneva for indirect talks with U.S. representatives. The statements come at a time of heightened tension, as the U.S. has increased its military presence in the Middle East ahead of negotiations.

President Trump has repeatedly warned Iran of “very steep” consequences if the country refuses to agree. Tehran, however, remains firm that threats will not influence the negotiation process and has promised a decisive response to any attack.

The dialogue in Geneva marks a sensitive moment in U.S.-Iran relations. Iranian officials have stressed that their defensive capabilities are strong and that the country will not compromise under pressure. Analysts note that Khamenei’s public statements serve both as a warning and a reinforcement of national resolve in the face of international pressure.

Iran’s position underscores a broader message: no matter the size or reputation of a military, strategic countermeasures can neutralize advantages and alter the balance of power.
