Jose Mourinho hotel bill reports have surfaced in Turkey after claims that the former Fenerbahce coach left the club facing a large unpaid charge from his months of living in a luxury hotel in Istanbul. Turkish media say the bill stands at about 36.5 million lira, equal to roughly 656,000 pounds.

Fenerbahce officials are said to be reviewing the situation while questioning who was responsible for covering the cost. The charge is linked to Mourinho’s extended stay at a five star hotel during his spell as head coach of the Turkish Super Lig club.
The Portuguese manager arrived in June 2024 after his exit from Roma. His return to management created strong expectations among supporters, but the optimism faded when he was dismissed only six games into the 2025 to 2026 season.
Mourinho has since taken over at Benfica in Portugal. Despite the move, the issue from Turkey has continued to follow him. Reports suggest that the 62 year old coach left behind a financial concern that the club may now need to handle.
Upon his arrival in Istanbul, Mourinho was placed at the Four Seasons Hotel situated along the Bosphorus. The hotel is located inside a restored 19th century Ottoman palace and is known for its premium rooms and high daily rates. It offers a spa, modern gym, indoor and outdoor pools, and wide waterfront views.
Journalist Muge Dagistanli Erdogan from Yenicag reported that Mourinho’s long stay produced the final charge that has drawn public attention. It remains unclear whether the club agreed to pay for his accommodation or whether the coach was expected to settle the bill personally.
Fenerbahce is believed to have paid Mourinho a large compensation fee when they ended his contract earlier in the season. Reports place the payout at around 7.7 million pounds. The ongoing hotel dispute has raised new questions about the financial arrangement between both sides.
With neither Mourinho nor Fenerbahce breaking their silence, the responsibility for the hotel payment remains unresolved.
