Kneecap Cancels U.S. Tour As Mo Chara Faces Terrorism-Related Charge

Kneecap cancels U.S. tour as member Mo Chara faces a terrorism-related charge in London, with the group calling the entire case against them a “witch-hunt.” The Belfast rap trio announced that all 15 of their scheduled U.S. shows in October will no longer go ahead, citing the timing of their next court hearing.

The group, made up of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, broke the news to fans on Instagram on Monday. Refunds will be given to anyone who had already purchased tickets.

“Due to the proximity of our next court hearing in London to the first date of the tour, as the British government continues its witch-hunt, we will have to cancel all 15 U.S. tour dates in October,” the group said. “But once we win our court case, which we will, we promise to embark on an even bigger tour to all you great heads.”

They also hinted at a surprise for American fans in October, describing it as “top secret for now” but promising that details will be revealed soon.

Messages of support quickly appeared in the comments section. One fan said they would donate their refund to a Palestinian organization. Another admitted being upset but added, “You are fighting for something bigger than a night out.”

British authorities charged Mo Chara after he was accused of displaying a Hezbollah flag during a concert in November 2024. U.K. law states that showing such symbols in a way that creates suspicion of supporting a banned organization can lead to prosecution.

Kneecap has rejected the charges and insists that the case is politically motivated. They claim their vocal support for Palestine has made them a target. In an earlier statement, the group said: “Those attacking us want to silence criticism of a mass slaughter. They weaponize false accusations of antisemitism to distract, confuse, and provide cover for genocide.”
