TMZ recently spoke with both Gloria and Emilio, who confirmed they were not in Miami at the time and had no connection to the incident. All claims against them were dropped by the court in July.
Emilio Estefan shared his frustration over the situation, emphasizing the impact on their family’s reputation. He said, “Listen, I’m so glad they threw the whole thing out of court because it was ridiculous. Number one, we were not in Miami. We were in New York. We will have to file a lawsuit against them because we have worked hard to develop a reputation for many years. It hurts the kids sometimes, what they hear.”
He continued, “I’m glad that it’s over, but I think they are going to hear from me now. They have to pay for it and probably apologize. All of that was a setup to make money, and that is not going to happen.”
Gloria Estefan added her perspective, saying, “It should be laid to rest. We have nothing to do with any of that. It is just sad that because we are neighbors, you get thrown into stuff. The truth will rise to the top.”
While the Estefans clear their names, Diddy is currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Last month, he was found not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering but guilty of transportation for prostitution. He faces up to 20 years in prison, with sentencing scheduled for October 3.
