SZA Vans Artistic Director has been officially announced, marking a historic collaboration between the singer and the iconic footwear and fashion brand, Vans. This multi-year partnership allows SZA to work closely on campaigns with Vans while co-creating her own exclusive line of items.

The “Kill Bill” singer shared her excitement about the role, stating, “In Vans, I feel free. I’ve been wearing Knu Skools and other styles for years, they’ve always had an ethos I connect with. As Artistic Director, my mission is to show that joy, community, creativity, and fashion are all still intersectional. That humanity, culture, and connection are still the access points.
“I’ve learned that bravery and curiosity are the cures for uncertainty. It is a lifestyle and Vans champions that spirit. They stand where I stand, and I am honored to invite a whole bunch of people to stand Off the Wall with us.”
Vans praised SZA as a revolutionary artist who is shaping the emotional tone of a generation. They highlighted how her genre-defying sound brings authenticity to the forefront, creating space for both softness and powerful expression. Vans also noted that SZA challenges fashion norms and cultural expectations, empowering youth to own their story. They concluded that she embodies the essence of Off the Wall by leading with creative intention, self-acceptance, and encouraging others to do the same.
The first campaign under SZA’s artistic direction focuses on Vans’ iconic Knu Skool skateboarding shoe. Outside of fashion, SZA recently expressed gratitude to Kendrick Lamar for inviting her to co-headline their record-breaking Grand National tour.
On Instagram Stories, she wrote, “This tour was the craziest most once in a lifetime experience I’ve ever had. Like all my childhood thoughts in one bang. WHAT WAS THAT? Lmao not a lot of words. Thank you to every single person involved that made this happen. Especially Kendrick Lamar.”
During a June tour stop, SZA also paid tribute to Kendrick on stage. Emotional, she said, “He put me onto the biggest moment of my life. This is also the biggest moment of my life. I am so thankful, and I am so thankful to y’all.” The two collaborators then shared a close hug before continuing their performance.
