Morocco Tourism Growth Reaches All-Time High With 17.4 Million Visitors

In 2025, Morocco tourism growth is reaching new heights. The country welcomed over 17.4 million tourists in 2024, breaking all previous records. As of May 2025, international arrivals rose by 22 percent, and overnight stays climbed by 17 percent. These numbers were confirmed by the Moroccan National Tourism Office during a board meeting on June 24, led by Minister of Tourism Fatim-Zahra Ammor.

Morocco Tourism Growth Is Breaking Records

Behind this surge is a clear and intentional strategy. Morocco invested in stronger marketing, boosted its online presence, and launched the “Air x2” plan to double air connectivity. These steps made it easier for travelers from around the world to visit — and they’re coming in larger numbers than ever.

One of the biggest contributors to this success is the country’s focus on flights. Morocco is planning to secure 13 million airline seats in 2025. It is also working on new long-haul flight deals for the 2026 to 2030 period. Talks are already underway with major international carriers. More direct routes are expected to launch soon, especially from key global markets.

The world is starting to pay attention. Morocco is now listed among the top ten most mentioned travel destinations globally. This is not just by chance. It is the result of hard-hitting digital campaigns and content created by local talent. These campaigns focus on the country’s unique culture, landscapes, and real experiences that appeal to modern travelers.

Looking to the future, Morocco has a clear aim. The target is to reach 26 million tourists by the year 2030. The Moroccan National Tourism Office believes this is within reach. The momentum is strong, and with partnerships in place and more routes being added, the numbers are likely to keep rising.
