Bauza, who was of Filipino descent, built a career around the animated characters he had admired since childhood. He previously spoke about growing up imitating the voices of Looney Tunes characters, a childhood interest that later became central to his professional life.

His work included voicing Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn in the 2021 film Space Jam: A New Legacy. Taking on several familiar characters from the same animated universe, Bauza helped carry their distinctive voices to a new generation of viewers.

Beyond the Looney Tunes franchise, Bauza worked on a wide range of animated television shows and films, building a career that extended across children’s entertainment and other popular productions. His credits included Coyote vs. Acme and The Super Mario Bros. Movie franchise, reflecting the breadth of his work in animation.

His performances earned him three Children’s and Family Emmy Awards between 2022 and 2025. The awards recognised his voice work on productions including Looney Tunes Cartoons, Bugs Bunny Builders and Teen Titans Go! His achievements established him as a leading performer in an industry where actors often remain behind the characters they bring to life.

Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and US Networks, paid tribute to Bauza, describing him as a unique voice talent who brought joy and laughter to millions around the world.

Dungey also highlighted Bauza’s admiration for Mel Blanc, the legendary voice actor who originated many of the best-known Looney Tunes voices. According to Dungey, Bauza regarded carrying on the franchise’s legacy as one of the greatest honours of his career.

Bauza’s death marks the loss of a performer whose childhood fascination with animated characters grew into an award-winning career. Through Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the many other characters he voiced, his work reached audiences across generations.
