Cynthia Erivo’s fashion choices continue to demonstrate her ability to move between classic red carpet glamour and bold contemporary design without losing her distinctive sense of style. Across recent appearances in London and New York, the British actress has showcased three looks that highlight her versatility, from a striking yellow Prada gown to sculptural leather tailoring and a dramatic printed dress by Proenza Schouler.

At the BFI London Film Festival premiere of Prima Facie, Erivo chose a custom canary-yellow Prada gown that brought a vivid splash of colour to the occasion. Cut from satin, the bias-cut design followed her silhouette before extending into a sweeping train. Oversized black grosgrain bows at the shoulders provided a sharp contrast against the bright yellow fabric, giving the otherwise streamlined gown a distinctive finish.

The look balanced simplicity with statement detailing, allowing the colour, flowing silhouette and shoulder embellishments to work together without competing for attention.

In New York, Erivo shifted away from formal eveningwear and embraced a more structured approach to dressing. She wore a tan leather co-ord from Proenza Schouler’s Fall 2026 collection, pairing a double-breasted jacket with relaxed trousers and chunky platform shoes. The combination of leather, oversized proportions and a neutral colour palette created a look that was contemporary without relying on bright colours or elaborate embellishments.

The outfit also demonstrated how proportion can shape an entire look. The structured jacket and wide-leg trousers gave the ensemble a strong silhouette, while the platform shoes added weight to the overall styling.

Erivo’s appearance at New York Comic Con offered another interpretation of the Proenza Schouler aesthetic. Joining the cast of Children of Blood and Bone, she wore a navy printed dress featuring sculptural draping, an asymmetric cut and dramatic fringe detailing. Silver grommets along the hem introduced an industrial element, contrasting with the movement of the fabric. Glittering blue heels and statement jewellery completed the ensemble.

The look was created under the direction of Rachel Scott, Proenza Schouler’s creative director, who is also known for her work with Diotima. Its combination of fluid draping, metallic hardware and bold accessories gave Erivo another opportunity to explore the relationship between structure and movement.

All three appearances were styled by Jason Bolden, whose approach allowed each outfit to retain its own identity while reflecting Erivo’s willingness to experiment with colour, texture and silhouette. Prada supplied the gown for the Prima Facie premiere, while Proenza Schouler dressed her for the New York press appearance and Comic Con event. Her footwear for the latter appearances included designs by Christian Louboutin.

Rather than relying on a single signature look, Erivo continues to move comfortably between polished eveningwear, statement tailoring and more experimental designs. Her recent appearances show how contrasting styles can form a cohesive fashion story when each choice is defined by a clear silhouette and considered details.
