Le Graal Cortina, a new luxury boutique hotel in the Italian Dolomites, is set to open later this year in Cortina d’Ampezzo, bringing 30 rooms, a spa and three dining venues to one of the region’s best-known mountain destinations.

Housed in a reimagined 1920s palazzo, the hotel will have 30 rooms, including 13 suites. Its small size and design-led interiors set it apart from larger resorts, offering a more intimate accommodation option for visitors planning a winter trip to the Dolomites.

Italian architect Achille Salvagni is behind the hotel’s design, which combines deep wood finishes, warm velvet furnishings and natural light. The interiors are intended to keep the surrounding mountains central to the experience, connecting the historic building with its Alpine setting.

Le Graal Cortina will offer direct access to the region’s ski terrain and Cortina d’Ampezzo’s historic centre. The location is suited to guests who want to spend their days on the slopes or exploring the mountain trails while remaining close to the town’s restaurants, shops and other attractions.

After a day outdoors, guests will be able to use the Le Graal Spa, which is planned to include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam, cryotherapy chamber and treatment rooms. The facilities will give the property a wellness offering alongside its accommodation and dining services.

Food and drink will form another central part of the hotel. Guests will have three venues to choose from, each designed for a different part of the day, from formal dining to casual meals and evening drinks.

Le Monsù will provide the hotel’s fine dining option. Its name comes from the Sicilian interpretation of the French term “Monsieur Le Chef”, historically used for chefs working in aristocratic households. The restaurant’s name reflects a culinary tradition rooted in formal hospitality.

For a more relaxed meal, Le Café will serve throughout the day, combining elements of a cafe, bistro and patisserie. Its menu is expected to feature Sicilian dishes with a contemporary approach, adding a regional Italian influence to the hotel’s Alpine location.

Le Graal Bar will offer cocktails, including the hotel’s interpretations of classics such as the negroni and spritz. Canapes and pastries will also be available, giving guests an option for light refreshments and drinks after a day outdoors.

Le Graal Cortina is among several luxury hotel developments and reopenings planned for the Dolomites, where accommodation providers are preparing for continued interest in the region’s mountain scenery and winter sports.

The First Cortina by The Pavilions Hotels & Resorts is also scheduled to open in Cortina d’Ampezzo in early December 2026. The 76-room property is expected to feature a spa and several restaurants, including Zuma, the internationally known Japanese restaurant brand associated with high-profile dining destinations.

Further ahead, the historic Hotel Cristallo in Alta Badia is expected to reopen under the Mandarin Oriental brand following extensive renovations. The planned property will have 83 rooms, including 30 suites, alongside several restaurants and bars and a spa operated under the group’s luxury wellness offering.

With its 30 rooms, extensive spa facilities and three food and drink venues, Le Graal Cortina will add another small-scale luxury option to Cortina d’Ampezzo’s hotel scene. For travellers arranging a winter stay, its opening offers another property to consider when choosing accommodation close to the Dolomites’ ski areas and historic mountain town.
