A 19-year-old UK-based Nigerian, Abdul-Rasheed Anjolaoluwa Oduola, has been arrested and charged in Barbados following the seizure of 23.4 kilograms of suspected cocaine valued at an estimated BDS$1.17 million.
Oduola, who is from Dagenham in East London, was arrested by officers from the Narcotics Unit of the Barbados Police Service in connection with the drug seizure. Police said he faces charges of possession of cocaine, trafficking cocaine, possession with intent to supply and attempting to export cocaine.

The suspected cocaine has an estimated street value of one million, one hundred and seventy thousand Barbados dollars, according to the Barbados Police Service.
The charges relate to an incident on September 29, 2026. Police have not publicly detailed how the suspected cocaine was allegedly being transported or where it was intercepted.
Oduola appeared before the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court on Friday, October 2. He was remanded until October 28, 2026, according to local court reporting.
The case remains before the court, and the charges against Oduola are allegations that have not been proven. The seizure represents a significant quantity of suspected cocaine, with police placing its estimated street value at more than BDS$1 million.
The Barbados Police Service Narcotics Unit continues to handle the investigation as the legal proceedings move forward.
