Caravan Hatta is bringing a new Airstream caravan retreat to the UAE’s Hajar Mountains, overlooking Hatta Dam and offering guests a mix of outdoor activities, wellness experiences, stargazing and open-fire dining.
The new property, Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas, is the hospitality group’s fourth resort in the Middle East and its first in the United Arab Emirates. Located in the Hajar Mountains, the retreat is about a 90-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, putting it within relatively easy reach of the city while offering a very different setting.
The property has 50 custom Airstream caravans, with accommodation positioned to face either the surrounding valleys or Hatta Dam. Each caravan has its own wooden deck, giving guests a private outdoor space to take in the mountain landscape.
At night, the setting takes on a different character. An observatory deck has been built for stargazing, taking advantage of the area’s distance from the brighter urban environment around Dubai. The resort also has an infinity pool overlooking the landscape.

“Hatta is a destination with a character and rhythm entirely its own,” said Yasmin Huneidi, general manager of Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas. She said the resort aims to build on that character by encouraging visitors to spend time outdoors, explore the area and connect with other guests.
The activities at Caravan Hatta are closely tied to its mountain location. Guests can take part in sound healing sessions, Arabic coffee rituals and guided wellness practices, while those looking for more active pursuits can leave the resort to explore nearby hiking and cycling trails.

Hatta Dam also provides opportunities for activities on the water, including kayaking and paddleboarding. The combination gives the property a broader outdoor focus rather than limiting the experience to the resort itself.
Wellness is another central part of the retreat. Thuraya Wellness includes a barrel sauna, an outdoor cold plunge and a hot tub, alongside yoga and meditation sessions. The facilities are designed to complement the property’s setting in the mountains and provide quieter alternatives to its outdoor adventure activities.
Food is another part of the experience. The main restaurant, Madar, takes its name from the Arabic word for “orbit” and serves Emirati-influenced dishes prepared using open-fire and underground cooking methods. Guests can also choose a more informal meal by the pool.

Caravan Hatta adds another desert and mountain destination to the growing Our Habitas portfolio in the Middle East. The group already operates two properties in Saudi Arabia’s AlUla, including one with Airstream caravans, as well as a resort in Ras Abrouq in Qatar.
For Hatta, the arrival of a dedicated caravan retreat adds another accommodation option to a destination already known for its mountain landscape, dam and outdoor activities. The property combines the visual appeal of Airstream accommodation with wellness facilities and access to the surrounding terrain, giving visitors a way to experience the Hajar Mountains while staying close to the comforts of a resort.
