Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky have welcomed their first child together, with the couple reportedly becoming parents to a baby girl born through a surrogate in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ, the child, Rose Bean Polansky, was born on June 9 at 11:19 p.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. A birth certificate obtained by the outlet reportedly identifies the baby as a girl and lists her name as Rose Bean Polansky.
The circumstances surrounding the couple’s decision to use a surrogate have not been disclosed. Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has previously spoken publicly about living with fibromyalgia, a chronic condition associated with widespread pain and fatigue. However, neither Gaga nor Polansky has publicly said that the condition was a reason for their decision to pursue surrogacy.
The birth certificate reportedly names Dr. Robert Katz as the physician who delivered the baby. Katz has also been associated with the delivery of Sienna Princess, the daughter of singer Ciara and NFL quarterback Russell Wilson.
The choice of the name Rose also appears to have a personal connection to Gaga’s family and career. Her maternal grandmother was Veronica Rose “Ronnie” Ferrie Bissett, while “La Vie En Rose” is closely associated with Gaga through her role in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. The singer’s performance of the French song in the film became one of the memorable musical moments of the movie, and she has the title tattooed along her spine.
Gaga and Polansky have been together since 2019 and announced their engagement in April 2024. Their relationship has largely remained outside the intense public spotlight that has followed much of Gaga’s career.
The arrival of their daughter marks a new chapter for the couple, who have not publicly shared extensive details about their family life. For now, the reported birth certificate provides the clearest public details about the child’s name, sex and date of birth, while Gaga and Polansky have not publicly commented on the report.
