16 Days 16 Voices Podcast Launched To Highlight Gender Based Violence Stories

16 Days 16 Voices is the new podcast series launched by Ghanaian media personality Chris Kata to bring real attention to gender based violence in Ghana and across the world. The series is produced through the Heal and Chill Foundation with support from Signal.co as part of the annual global campaign that runs from 25 November to 10 December every year. The global theme for this season, End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls, speaks directly to the growing forms of abuse that take place on social platforms and in offline spaces.

Chris Kata, known for her work with Channel 1 TV and Citi FM, created this project from her personal experiences and the stories of women she has met over the years. She shared that many of these stories are pushed aside or left unheard, which motivated her to create a space where survivors and advocates can speak openly.

She explained that the goal of the series is to open a place for truth telling and healing. According to her, silence only protects abusers and never supports survivors. The conversations in the series aim to challenge harmful norms, awaken empathy, and influence changes in policy and systems that are meant to protect women and girls.

The 16 episode series features voices from survivors, gender advocates, psychologists, lawyers, healthcare professionals, and policy contributors. Each guest adds a distinct layer to the wider conversation around gender based violence and the long term impact it has on individuals and communities.

New episodes will be released throughout and after the campaign period. Full episodes will be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and major social media platforms. The campaign will also share short video clips, awareness materials, and daily advocacy messages to keep the conversation active during the 16 days.

The Heal and Chill Foundation, established by Chris Kata, focuses on healing support, advocacy, and empowerment for survivors of trauma and gender based violence. With Signal.co as the power partner, the production and reach of the series are strengthened to carry the message beyond Ghana.

Kata noted that she hopes the series grows into a movement that transforms pain into purpose and stories into change. Supporters can follow the campaign using the hashtags #16Days16Voices, #16DaysOfActivism, #EndGBV, #OrangeTheWorld, and #EndDigitalViolence.
